On the first use, let the candle burn until the top layer of wax melts evenly to the edges of the jar, which helps it burn cleanly afterwards. Trim the wick to about half a centimetre before each lighting, burn it on a flat, heat-safe surface away from curtains, flowers and anything that can catch, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
