Why Fragrant Oriental Lilies Are Perfect for Your Vase
Oriental lilies are known for their fragrance, and just three stems are enough to scent a room as the flowers open. Their long, sturdy stems make them easy flowers for a vase: trim the ends, place them in water and they stand tall on their own, with no arranging skills needed. The soft yellow colour brightens a dining table, a work desk or a bedside, which makes them simple, cheerful flowers for home decor.
Because they arrive as loose, fresh flower stems rather than a styled bouquet, they also make easy just because flowers: a small, thoughtful gesture for a friend who could use some brightness, a quick get well soon or a low-key birthday surprise. You get the full beauty of the lilies without the extra wrapping, which keeps things simple and less wasteful.
About the lilies: Lilies may arrive in bud, partly open or fully open, depending on availability. For bloomed lilies, please place your order 3 days in advance so we can set them out to bloom for you. Once they open, you can gently pull off the pollen-covered tips with a tissue to keep the petals clean and avoid stains on clothes or table linen.
Caring for your lily stems: Trim about 2 cm off each stem at an angle, remove any leaves that would sit below the water line, and place the stems in a clean vase with fresh water. Change the water every 1 to 2 days, remove faded flowers so the buds have room to open, and keep the vase away from direct sunlight, heat, fans and ripening fruit.
