A Panch Diya with a Peacock Top

Panchdeep means five lamps, and the panch diya is the heart of this hamper. Its five petal-shaped cups are made to hold oil and cotton wicks, and the whole piece sits on a raised stand crowned with a peacock, finished in an antique gold tone. It is the kind of diya that comes out every Diwali, Lakshmi puja and special occasion for years. Alongside it are two hand-painted clay diyas, one in orange and green and one in gold and teal, to light at the doorway or on the rangoli.

Two glass jars with burlap covers and red raffia bows hold 100 g of salted pistachios and 120 g of raisins, a savoury and sweet pair that works for guests, snacking or the festive kitchen. Caring for Your Hamper

Keep the chocolate and dry fruits in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and close the jars tightly after opening. Place the panch diya and clay diyas on a flat, heat-safe surface before lighting, keep them clear of the blossoms, curtains and anything that can catch, and never leave a lit diya unattended. Switch off and unplug the fairy lights when not in use.
